What are Nostalgic Wednesdays?

Hello and welcome to Nostalgic Wednesdays! Each week I値l be taking an old article from the archives and displaying it with a little blurb on why I picked it! This is aimed at presenting useful information that maintains its relevance even now, or an article that is timely and unique to a current situation at the site, etc...

I, Leeman, will be the one picking these articles and writing the blurbs. I致e been an avid fan of the articles section since the beginning of earthbound.net and continue to read it with much glee. I致e read every article this site has to offer, and plan to read every one in the future. I also write articles for the site, and encourage you to check them out! If you have any suggestions, comments, or criticism for this new section in a section, email me about it!

I went through little to no mental anguish, and on top of that, I actually got the freakin' sword. I guess I'll consider myself lucky. Read this to know the true grief some face at the hands of 1/128 odds!

This Weeks Nostalgic Wednesday was Chosen by our Guest NWer, MikeTheEBGuru!

Coming this week from the crusty files of NW, we have one of the funniest and enlightening article pieces ever conceived. How Smart is the Apple Kid is not only one of Jim痴 finest, but it痴 also one of those articles that leave you kicking yourself for not coming up with the same idea earlier. It has prose, content, and enough manly Apple Kid dissension to make you question that fruit-faced bum the entire game. Without a doubt, I believe it deserves to be known as one of the best articles we致e ever had, and honestly, it made me eat more oranges.

When I first rented EarthBound and was taking a look at that gigantic box, I also thought Ness was inside the Final Starman. Upon further inspection (and after playing the game all the way through) I realized, as Darth Belch did, that it is merely Ness casting a reflection into the Starman痴 visor. Also, I thought it had some cool symbolism to it, considering if you look nice and close you can see that in the reflection, it痴 made so that Ness is looking very small, taking on something very huge.

Considering I wasn't exactly around at the time of the essay judging, and I didn't get to give any honorable mentions. For you kids that only caught the trail end of all this jazz, and only read Pappy and Karen's response, here's mine!

All I want to know is what possessed RaSeb to sell his copy of EarthBound in the first place! He's got a point about EarthBound's modern day setting being excellent for relating to our own lives though, that's for sure. Downtown Onett reminds me a lot of my own small town. Heed RaSeb's advice, NEVER sell your copy of EarthBound, it's precious, and you don't know what price you'll have to pay to get it back.

godofcows has been an infamous figure in this community for quite some time. He actually surprised me quite a bit with his writing talent when I read this article back in the day. I figure it'd be a good read for anyone who knows the name, and not the man.

This article actually isn't that old, but I'm not sure whether Evil Annie really got the recognition she deserved for it, as it seemed to slip off the radar pretty quickly. I decided to spotlight this one because it's honestly my favorite article I've ever come across on the site, sent shivers down my spine upon finishing. Maybe if we're all as nice as I was the first time, and give her some nice feedback, she'll be nice and write some more for me...I mean everyone to read!

Mu Training Guy: I AM GOING TO KILL YOU AND YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO COMPLY! Okay, just read it, it speaks for itself...

Anthadd痴 brief article displays how one can take a theory and flesh it out a little into an article. However, one should not make a preposterous theory just for the sake of submitting. In Anthadd痴 article he displayed his actual conviction in his own writings.

While I plan to use SimonBob as an example quite often in this series, this article really sticks out as a good one to me. It takes an issue inEarthBound and breaks it down, plus it leaves the reader room to think, and possibly give some feedback on it. My feedback is the fact that I like the word 濡iygism. Feel free to give feedback to any writer I give the spotlight to on Nostalgic Wednesdays. It gives us writers a warm, fuzzy feeling inside...

To understand how to write a good article, you might possibly want to take note of the aging legend Ultimoo痴 article about writing articles! PappyCat has recently had to reject select articles because they were not meeting the criteria expected of the guidelines. Often you may question why the guidelines are made the way they are. This article illustrates the 努hy and not just the 塗ow.
