EarthBound Zero: 1982-87

Written by Dr. Forrester

---------------------------

Okay, welcome to my first article :)

Anyway, if you've played EarthBound Zero you'll notice that there is a boy in a classroom that says he's playing "Super Mario Brothers 3." But if you recall the beginning of the game, you will notice that it says in the early 1900's (assuming from 1900-1905) and then says that two years later when George (Ness' GGF) returned and studied PSI. Then on the next screen it says "80 years later..."

What does this add up to? Assuming that "early 1900's" means 1900-1905 the year would be 1982-87. But if you're a Super Mario fan like me, you know that "Super Mario Brothers 3" was NOT released until 1990! In fact, "Super Mario Brothers 2" was released in 1988! So in the world of EarthBound, the game technology must be approx. 3-10 years ahead of our time! Look at EarthBound for SNES, there was a sign in Fourside for development of EarthBound Two (aka EB64.) If we could only have snuck into the building with the EarthBound Two sign then we could have possibly seen a beta for EarthBound 64!

(By the way, EarthBound is cool because my dog ate my sandwich - inside joke, you had to read the article submission rules to understand.)
