This is the Starmen.net's NP Siege project where we as a community create envelope art and send our entries together as a group to Nintendo with the hope of seeing it published. The past two NP Sieges, NP Seige 2 and Project: 'Ruffini' (NP Siege 1) were predecessors to the present contest. NP Siege 2 was highly successful with a good response to our influx of letter art and also resulted in published pieces in Nintnedo Power.
I encourage you to draw as much you like and to do your best. There will be no judging, but the people who get their art published will get a Music CD set of their choice and maybe another prize as well. You can make as many envelope sketches/art as you can or want!! Here are some guidelines to help you get published. |

-EarthBound related - either of EarthBound/Mother 2, EarthBound Zero, EarthBound 64/Mother 3, or Super Smash Bros. Melee art -If you submit SSBM art, EarthBound (Ness, Mr Saturn, Onett) must be prominent in the picture. -Try to use color, Nintendo Power rarely publishes uncolored works -Hand drawn sketches are the most favorable -Do NOT include "Starmen.net" in the drawing, Nintendo does not advertise. If you do, it won't be published. -try to put a starman patch (the triangle and 3 rectangles) as a reference to Starmen.net if you want -Do not cut and paste art from other non-nintendo artists without their permission -Try to have the word "EarthBound" in the drawing to have a reference to the series to make it clear to Nintendo and its readers. -No offensive messages demanding or critisizing anything. Please stay passive. We have to maintain a positive image. -This is an attempt to show Nintendo how much we like EarthBound, not some flame fest, so don't make demands in your letters. -When you write you letter, please address that you want... |

This is something NEW that I am doing (or at least trying). Depending on the quality of some pieces of art from certain recipients, if you create a decent quality piece of work with the computer I will print (high quality) it out and put it on an envelope. This is something that I have to judge since my resources are being used. If you want to print it yourself and put it on an envelope, thats fine. One drawback is that but I will not gaurentee that Nintendo accepts these entries. Its a chance, but they still will recgnize these pieces as art as being from the fans. If you do send me an image to have printed, make sure it is a HIGH res, large file for me to print. |

With some of the entries so far, they have used the entire FRONT side of the envelope for their drawing while putting all the info (Return address, recipients address, etc) on the back (flap side) of the envelope. I would suggest this unless you want to tie in the the text mailing Info in your drawing on the front side. Those that have decided to include the mailing info text on the front have done so un such a way that it doesnt have to be in its standard locations (recipient addy in the center, etc). Be creative, but if you do this, make sure the return address is on the back or in its standard upper left corner place so there is no confusion.

 The address that goes on the letter art is... P.O. Box 97033 Redmond, WA 98073-97733 I misspelled Instructions :P and you dont need to put a stamp on your envelope art. Make sure to mail your envelope art inside a larger letter when you mail it to me. All the letters will be TA DAH! sent to me, Jonk, to the address listed below... 1212-D SW 16th Ave Gainesville, FL 32601 I will scan them all and they will eventually be posted here on the site. They will all be mailed together as of now. Everything should be listed above for you to go from A to Z with your entry in the community project. What does this mean? Start making letter artage!
