Fanfics are getting quite exciting these days, what with fan artists gearing up to draw their favourite scenes and me doing my job really late at night. Hooray for everyone! Send me Fanfics and cola.

Articles Update that is not an update. |

Hey everyone. I haven't gotten a lot of articles lately...Send them my way, would ya? articles@starmen.net But that is not what this non-update is about. This non-date is about debates. Yes, debates. The word is like a fresh, gentle breeze whispering through the trees, eh? Here is the deal: First, I am NOT reviving debates. I am considering reviving debates. How you react to this test-debate decides whether or not we do this again. Our Victims..err..Debators are Carpainter and MikeTheEBGuru. This should make for an interesting debate. Both are quite fiesty and they are friends. Kind of like seeing Batman and Robin duke it out. Sickly entertaining, eh? Now, I have decided to make all of you involved with this debate. The topic is up to you! Send your Debate topic ideas to articles@starmen.net with the subject line as "DEBATE TOPIC IDEA" and then I'll pick the best 5 or so. Then you guys can vote for the one you like the most on the poll (Hi Eboundito!). This can be as fun or as boring as you make it. I expect to get a lot of topics. I can't really offer anything to the person who's topic is chosen, but I can put "(Winners name) Rocks!" as the subject of one of my updates. Sound good? Send me those ideas for the Carpy/Mikey debate! articles@starmen.net

Goodbye Neighbor :( |

One person that I grew up with on TV as a kid was my neighbor and my friend. Helping me put on my shoes, teaching me to explore my imagination and learn to love and be nice to others. His positive attitude is something that echoes still. It was always a beautiful day in the neighborhood, even if it was raining, the country was at war, or even in time of uncertainty. The red sweater, the magical trolley, and his other inspiring creations will be sadly missed, but most of all, will be THE neighbor himself, Mister Rogers. :( Fred Rogers passed-on this morning at the age of 74 from Cancer.
"We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say 'It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem. Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes."

Poll Update! |

A new poll is on the horizon. But first the results from last week:
What's the weirdest place in EarthBound?
Moonside: 53.59%
Magicant: 27.62%
Saturn Valley: 9.67%
Tunnel of the Past: 6.08%
Lost Underworld: 3.04%
Total Votes: 362
I was surprised by this one. I thought that Moonside and Magicant would be neck and neck. You crazy backwards people!
Anyway, vote this week too. It's another "What's the best" poll. I was reluctant to put the Franklin Badge on, but it completes the elemental stuff (flash, fire, ice, thunder). So go vote! It's easy.

Normally, I'd take this time to tell you that Trivia has been updated. However, I choose to take this time to tell you that Trivia has not been updated because nobody got all five questions right. Yes, that's right: in a rare show of mercy [and a desire not to see a return to the recent string of a handful of Tomatoes being earned for any specific week] I have decided to extend Trivia an additional week.
Furthermore, any entrants who entered last week may, if they wish, re-enter this week. And a very big hint: most of you messed up on one question because you ignored a limiting clause.

Hooray For EarthBound |

I started playing EB again on my SNES. It was fun. I got to Twoson before I was done for the day.
Speaking of EB, it's time to dust off your cartridges for another week of SLings Secret Screenshots! This weeks entry looks easy, but don't rush into it, you may get hurt! Hooray for the people that got it last week!
P.S, read my post I made a little while ago about the chat section. You don't need to email me anymore. Just waltz in. Make sure your nickname is registered, though, it tells you how in the chat section. Registering does not involve e-mailing me. Although if you wanna e-mail me to talk you can : - )

The Mystery Writer Returns |

Articles has been updated! I didn't get many articles this week. I really hope that isn't the case next week. Well, the lack of quantity was made up in quality. We have a really cool Earthbound/0 theory, a chrunch chronicle, and a Mystery Writer!
For those who haven't been around lately, someone has been submitting articles anonymously. This person might reveal themselves at the end of the series. I bring you the next chapter in A PEOPLES HISTORY OF #EARTHBOUND
Don't let my next update be so skimpy. Send me articles. I really do enjoy them, and you should too. articles@starmen.net

Lotsa Fangames! |

Yay Fangames! I knew you guys would come back with a major punch. First off EarthBound DooM has been updated to version 6.5 New in beta 6.5: Many new monster types added, as well as two new training levels. More in the main readme. Ness' Snowman Challenge: Make a snowman with Ness or Poo, and get an official rating. Strive to get higher ratings, or go 1-on-1 with a friend for some crazy multiplayer fun! Starmen.net Solitaire: It's Solitaire like you've never seen it! Starmen.net Solitaire takes Solitaire, adds some EB goodness, stirs in some Starmen.net regulars and frappes it together. In otherwords, it's Solitaire with SM.net people on the cards and EB scenes on the backs. And other neat little changes. Mother 3 and a Third: Giygas is back for a second time and you must find an item to help defeat him once and for all!
Phew, that's a lotta fangames. Today's Updated Sites:URL Additions:Have you updated your site recently? Would you like your site to be listed in updated sites? All you have to do is email updatedsites@starmen.net with your site's name and url.
Are you not in the links? Would like to get listed? Send an email to links@starmen.net containing your site's name and url, and you'll be all fixed up.

Chat |

Hi, everyone, it's SLing, your local SSS guy and lieutennant chat dude. As I don't currently have access to the chat section (cough, nudge,) I'm posting this post to tell everyone that has e-mailed chat@starmen.net and not recieved a reply that #earthbound is no longer on an invite-system. You can come in if your nickname is registered. Take note of this. I'll be updating the chat section as soon as I get the password to reflect these changes.
Thanks, and I hope to see some of you soon!

Hey! Read this! |

Look, it's an update. Y'know, the kind with fanfiction. Hey, I could put something in this big blank space.
Watch out for flying articles because I'm all outta writer's block and back on the streets with a need to compete! Send me Fanfics or I'll invent some kind of super-demonic alter-ego to rip you up and eat you alive! You'll be sorry you didn't write some fanfics then, won't ya boyo?! Bwahahah!
Hey, and if you're into looking at things (and who isn't?) then check out the department's new banner that Jonk made! Hooray for everything! :D
Those links were all correct before. Really. Thanks Fobbio.

Oranges and Graphic Design |

Paper's /EarthBound has been updated. The updates for /EB will be Monday and late Thursday from now and on so look foward to that! I've been eating oranges and working on some graphic design so I've been a busy Floridian experiencing some excellent weather as well!
Jakob Dorof is working on a book that may become a project as notable as the Rock Candy series. Check that out HERE. I encourage all talented artists to contribute to this book. I would like this to be a successful project even though it doesnt have my direct involvement in it :) Please look into that.
Again, The Starmen.net Calendar is up and ready for ya to grab! You cant handle its uber levels of sexiness, it's unavoidable, YOU CANT RESIST! You don't want to make the cute lil' saturn cry, do you?... DO YOU!?

Good and Good For You |

That's right, it's Mailbag! Yay! Once again, my stupid connection had decided it didn't feel like working, but it decided to only torture me for a week this time. We had a really good, creative week of Mailbag last week, with some particularly interesting responses, so I highly suggest reading. Psionic Brawler wrote my favorite letter, getting him the honor of Letter of the Week.
This week's topic is: Have you PK Hacked? Do you think it's fun? Ethical? EarthBound is coming to the point where almost everything is hackable. What do you think about it?
I think you get the idea: this week is all about PK Hack! And, naturally, BlueAntoid will be corresponding. So get out there and Mailbag!

Fun Fun Article Fun |

First off, I'm sorry that I pushed down Jonk's super cool update. Go read it if you haven't! The calendar is AWESOME! No Way! Articles has been updated! Fun batch this week, but I gotta remind all of you to read the guidelines. If your too lazy to click the link, the thing I most wanted to get across from you is: In the submission email I need the following: The Title of the article, the name which you want the article credited under, and your email address. I couldn't post a few articles cause I had NO idea who to credit them to. I don't like using the name the email address is under, cause that is usually the persons real name. Anyway, here are you articles!
I had something different come to my mailbox this week. Someone want's me to post a series of their articles completely anonymous. Now, I considered hitting the delete button on this, but I was pretty intrigued as to why they wished to remain anonymous and the article wasn't half bad, so I broke down and posted it. This person said that they might consider revealing themselves at the end of their article series. Remember, even I have no idea who this person is. It could be my mother, for all I know. The series is called A PEOPLE'S HISTORY OF #EARTHBOUND
Well, Enjoy your update! Send me your articles, so we can have more frequent article updates. articles@starmen.net

Update |

Hmm, you've lapsed. Only CPTCrunch and Daveman Deluxe won Trivia this week. And before you leap on me for question 5, think about it. (And as a note, when I said "answer me this" there, I didn't mean it literally.)

Fan Art Lows and Highs |

Ok people, I was pretty saddened with the art that I got this week overall. There were some decent pieces and they have been posted, but for goodness sake, I feel like quality isnt in some of the other ones not posted like it could be. The art that is shown this week is only a part of what I received that was acceptable.
Also, I am and have been seeing some people taking pieces of your art and tacking EB realted nomenclature or trying to relate it to EB art when it isnt. Artists like this are trying to go for a LONGSHOT by trying to relate it just to get it posted. It ain't gonna work folks.
Now since "name that fanart" got only two responses, I am really considering closing it since it doesnt look like an active part of the Art Department.

Now, I do have a great highlight! I was able to get /EarthBound to come here to Starmen.net. I am going to release it just like Paper did originally with 1 or 2 comics a week. There are only 37 chapters so I have to stretch this being one of the best EB comics ever made. Check it out in the comics section below. Enjoy!

My free Zelda game came in!!!1 |

First off, fan games. I've had a few questions about it, even a couple of people ask me to give them the job. (You know who you are.) Here's the deal, I'm not giving it up. There are no updates for it because you guys aren't sending in fan games. P.S. If you're not a avid forumer, RR4 is coming up. Don't ask about RR3. I think it got lost or something. In order fill space, I think we need a ROFISH Mini-Review!!!!1 This one's for the Zelda:OoT makeover. It's the N64 version in all aspects. Nothing changed, no use of the cool effects the GC can do. The only real difference is a higher resolution, and the colors for the sword and action have been changed to whatever the GC controller is. They even keep the ugly regular red hearts, and not use the pretty hearts from Majora's Mask. The Master Quest uses the same dungeon layout, from what I played so far, but chests are in different places, and a LOT more enemies. There's also those fire bats in the Deku Tree dungeon, so beware the loss of your shield. And more importantly, they don't let you skip those cutscenes about the Triforce and the end of the world and stuff you have to watch those things again. :( Today's Updated Sites: URL Additions: Have you updated your site recently? Would you like your site to be listed in updated sites? All you have to do is email updatedsites@starmen.net with your site's name and url. Are you not in the links? Would like to get listed?
