I am very pleased to announce the beginning of starmen.net's Second Essay Contest! Those who remember the First Essay Contest know that it was a great success and we are hoping that this time around will be an even bigger one. I will give you an VERY brief overview here, but please check this page out for the and specifics. The Topic: "In EarthBound, which character do you find most resembles yourself? Why? Do you think you relate to them, or do you just want to be them? Is it purely aesthetic, or is it because of your personality? Remember, the judges just love symbolism! It doesn't have to be a major character, it doesn't have to be a speaking character, it can be an enemy, an animal, anything! Go nuts, just be original, and if you pick Ness and want to win, you best do a really good job!" The Dates: You can submit your entries from June 30th - July 14. Judging will be held the following week. Submissions should be sent to essay@starmen.net. Note that it is a different address than the regular article one. Whew. The auctions are right on time because I just finished striking a show for my community theater. The show was a musical called Carousel. It wasn't bad, but after seeing it well over 25 times you kinda get tired of it. Thankfully, this past week I was able to play Mother 1+2 while running it. I also got one of those GBA SP headphone adaptor things, which I highly recommend. Here are some Auctions!

To report infringing items on internet auction sites, please call us at 1-800-255-3700 or e-mail us at auctionpiracy@noa.nintendo.com I have updated the Auctions section in Merchandise with this information. I don't really want to bother giving my list of excuses, and you don't really want to hear any excuses either. I dropped the ball here, and it won't happen again. I won a A Shounen Oh Comics 'Game Comic Vol. 2 not to long ago off of eBay. It should arrive on my doorstep any day now. As soon as I get this manga you can bet there will be new scans of it up in the Merchandise section. Today is the last day for PK-Call'N. It's happening right now on the Starmen.Net Discussion Forum. Normally I would make some huge letter to the site and make a big post about it, but everything I have to say has been posted there. Starmen.Net is changing, and that forum is ground zero for all the discussion. There are about four different topics on there right now that EVERYONE should read, especially the bid farewell to Xod. I said everything on that topic that I would otherwise say here on the front page, but I must still say that the site will never be the same. We'll always have a Xod-shaped hole in the fabric of the Linux server :( In happier news, I'm gonna PK Call'N today, this should be interesting :) Remember that today (Friday) is the last day for the official PK Call 'N stuff, but that shouldn't prevent you from calling next week if you didn't get a chance to now. Also, Jonk wanted me to let everyone know that he's out of commission for a little while longer. His computer busted a few days back, but luckily its given him some time to work on his art stuff and take a break from the site in general. Remember your stuff for NP Siege III! Jonk said that he's got a lot of new entires to post. I know for a fact that a lot more are on the way since I drew/colored my letter tonight, Plo made his last night, and Meeellla made THREE between yesterday and today. Yet I cant stop playing Mother 1+2! Well, I had to stop playing in order to bring you this update. I just finished scanning everything that came with my Mother 1+2 package. It finally arrived at my house at 9:33 AM this morning. Right as I was about to leave for my summer class over at my local community college.... Ugh. The many scans include the Box, the Cart, Insert, and the entire Manual. Check out the complete scans in the Mother 1+2 Cartridge section in Merchandise. Now, if you want a North American version I highly suggest you check out PK-Call'N. Yes, its been mentioned a lot here. However I know there are still a few of you out there that intend to call in but still have not. Just remember that the last day for PK-Call'N is this Friday. So please call in soon! And listen to reidman and Jonk's advice. Do not call twice, be polite, be serious, and be original in your call. Now back to Mother 1+2. Thank goodNESS for the GBA SP's backlight. PLEASE DIE. In case you haven't guessed already, thats right: still no Mother 1+2 for me. Did anyone else order from Lik-Sang? Email me or post something on the forum and let me know if you've gotten your order yet (assuming you requested fast shipping), if you've even gotten confirmation yet (I haven't), or if any of you have had good/bad experiences with them in the past. I don't want to be like 'Dear Everyone: Never use Lik Sang again' because its possible that I made some kind of an error, but I doubt it. This seems to be a case of crappy service. I'll let you guys know how it turns out, and perhaps I'll be making some recommendations about whether or not to use Lik Sang when Mother 3 rolls out *AHEM*. Anyway, wanted to post to let you guys know thats why I haven't been posting any news concerning it. However, it seems that PK Call'N is going very well, with a few glaring exceptions: This isn't some kind of 'teehee lets bother nintendo because we're stupid 2-year-olds and we hate them go sega' campaign. This is a chance for you guys to work together to make your desires as gamers known. We pay the money for the games that keeps Nintendo running - the customer is always right. However, since Nintendo has a lot of customers, we need to make it clear just how many of us there are. So don't be immature. Call once, be polite, and don't read them some pre-written spiel. Just tell them what you think. I think thats all for now. We've been having a few server problem, but they should be over soon. So if your FTP account is still broken, email me and I'll be the interpreter between you guys and Xod. Its not easy translating English into Mega Man pictures and unix commands. |
