| Aww, the EBFGP is over for another season/year. I sure had fun playing EB! Speaking of playing EB, SLings Secret Screenshots has been updated yet again with a screenshot for you to look for! I tried to make this new one hard, but considering I only had 18 out of 47 correct last week, I didn't make it as impossible as the last one. Mad props go out to Artemis251, Derby Kirby, dragondyne, Everdraed and Gauntlet for being the only people with perfect scores so far! You guys rock! | ||||||

The EBFGPS02 reaches its conclusion today as it hits its 25th game play point! It's been a fun ride, I hope people enjoyed it this year. You have one thing left to do, and that's to defeat Giygas! Once you've finished the game, try talking to everybody. I'm always finding new stuff people say. It's really cool. For those who left the enemies in the Fourside Museum alive, once you defeat Giygas you can go back and fight them! A hardly-known fact. Too bad more people didn't post on the EBFGPS02 forum, but oh well. You'd think that with all the craze about possible EB on GBA that people would be more interested in the EBFGP :( That's all. Okay, so it wasn't the *greatest* of topics, but Apple of Enlightenment did rather well last week. We have something I don't remember doing before, a consecutive winner, and finally the surprise to encourage some really nice flukes is revealed. Wow, I got a ton of Flukes these past four days! Barely any were named incorrectly, which makes me very happy. Don't forget to read ALL of the FAQ. Oh, and on an unrelated note, if you haven't taken a look already at the UD Cancer Project, you should. It is a program that uses your extra processor power in the background, and it processes cancer proteins, then uploads the results to the main server (similar to the SETI project). If you do decide to download it, make sure that you join team Earthbound!. Note: the servers are currently upgrading the statistics, so if it doesn't work right away, give it a day or two, it should be finished by then. |

Once again, Quartermann has given all of us at Starmen.Net a huge thrill with some very exciting news: Where/how he gets this info is a mystery to us, but we trust him. Since he says that the coming EB game is not Mother 3, we must logically assume that EarthBound is coming to the Game Boy Advance! (What else would it be coming to?) While this isn't as awesome as the idea of having Mother 3 on Gamecube, this is still excellent news. There is also the possibility of EarthBound Zero (Mother) coming to Game Boy Advance, although the only logical way this would happen is if it were bundled with EarthBound. Thats doubtful, but still a possibility. Are you sure? Pretty sure. Quartermann is a respected article guy, I don't think he'd ever say something like that without some majorly solid evidence. I think he knows as well as we do that he would be murderized if he was wrong. So, for the rest of this post, lets assume EB is coming to GBA (:D). How will this affect the site? Excellent question, I'm glad I asked it. This could register anywhere between very good and very bad on the "Starmen.Net Big Happening Scale". In case you haven't been with us for long, I can plainly tell you that we've been one of the unluckiest sites on the net in terms of webhosts. Very recently we switched to a dedicated server with 150 gigs of bandwidth per month and 20 gigs of space -- more than enough for a site our size. This might change that. The problem comes in predicting what kind of impact this will have on our site. There is no question that Starmen.Net is the biggest EarthBound site on the net, but who knows how many new visitors this will bring? Time will tell. In order to prepare ourselves, however, we'll likely be taking some precautionary actions around the time the game is announced (the point at which our hits will probably begin to spike). Poor KindarSpirit. Poor KindarSpirit indeed. As if she doesn't work hard enough already, she's gonna have to play through every square inch of the game and figure out what was changed in the port ;) How will this affect the petition? Under some circumstances, it could be a HUGE help to the Mother 3 Petition. A few people have asked me if I'm going to stop with the petition where I'm at, and the answer is a very solid 'no'. The petition is going to at least 30,000 signatures; the only thing thats going to cut that short is the announcement of Mother 3 itself. The biggest factor which affects the petition is time. How soon will EB on GBA be released? If it comes soon (like within 6 months), perhaps we'll have a much easier time reaching that 30,000 mark, and maybe much farther than that. I didn't plan on leaving the petition running for this long, but shoot, it would be a terrible waste to skip all of those potential signatures. However, I don't wanna start speculating on that. Just know that the petition is still going strong and this latest announcement impacts it very heavily, if the game comes out soon enough :) DUDE WHERE IS THE PARTY? Well, the Continuum tournament is over. We had around 45 people there fighting in the DS at one point, and it was a pretty cool sight to see. In the end, as the results of the Death Star match, Freq. 0 held the Death star for the majority of time, holding it for about 40 minutes. As for dueling afterwards, we went to a seperate arena because there was too much action in #earthbound arena. Deg and I dueled to decide something, with one match going on for 20 minutes (the entire duel lasted for 40.) Deg won the duel 4-2, but we ended up throwing the decision out the window anyways though. It was still a crazy duel. Oh well, at least I managed to destroy our favorite webmaster reidman in a match 4-1. :P Bottom line: Tourney was fun. Yay. |

Godeg and I have made a list of top players and split them up between the two teams (we don't want all the mechaplayers on one team; that would be slaughter.) If you are one of these top players, please show up. For everyone else entering the tournament, good luck! We'll be playing in the Death Star for about an hour or so, and deciding who wins based on several factors. After that, we'll just go off and do stuff on our own, whether that may be duels, huge fights, elimination matches, or whatever may occur. | Unfortunately I've had so much time lately, due to being on muscle relaxers for pulling a muscle (gah!) -_- I can't do much... but fortunately, I've added a colossal 40+ some odd interiors and some major city maps to the EarthBound Area Map Project, so as you can see most towns are now nearing completion. Well, I know it has been a while, but there is a simple explaination to why I have put this update off. I did not recieve a single, solitary (acceptable) article. I thought maybe I was going to recieve one, but I realized that it just wasn't happening, so I needed to update with just an article from me. I urge you all to read it now. I think it is pretty good. Yeah, got back late yesterday ^_^. So now I'm here to give you a new Apple of Enlightenment prediction ^_^. This one may bring back some memories as it's close to one of my first predictions ^_^. But it's different ^_^. This week's prediction is: What if EarthBound took place in Sweden? (Incase it's a little obscure, here are some cultural references to help, vikings, Pippi Longstocking, hockey, Ranting Swede, ABBA ^_^) So that's about it, remember that everything has to be in before next Monday ^_^.
