Cool Maps |

|
|
Here is a new piece of Miscellaneous Merchandise.
These two maps are really well detailed and pretty huge. If you see either one of these on eBay I suggest you pick them up. Now, I must be off so I can finish packing for college. If all goes well my next update should be from my campus apartment via a T1 connection. :D

EarthBound in Nintendo Power |

|
|
The player's poll sweepstakes in October's (Viewtiful Joe cover) Nintendo Power Magazine asks readers about their favorite classic game, in a list of questions about classic games, one of the choices is Earthbound. So if you get NP, go and vote for EarthBound. Or I'll sick my exit mouse on you.
Thanks goes to THeMadHaTTeR5533 for emailing this to us, and to EB 4 GBA for posting it on the forums.
Check it out on the forums
One more thing. People have been asking questions about Mother1+2 screenshots of the title screens and what not. I think this topic should help you.

Polls Updated |

|
|
Yes, you are witnessing live polls. Here are the results from last week:
Does HAL's disappearance worry you?
YES! What will become of us?!: 53.04%
No, it'll be OK.: 38.93%
What's HAL?: 8.03%
Total Votes: 411
Apparently this wasn't a very big deal though. They just moved, and an important HAL man left, but on good terms. I don't know the full story, but it was on Nintendojo.com. So alls well. Now go vote this week too!

Hybrid Rainbow |

One again, theories is updated with a new topic. The responses to last week's topic were pretty good so everyone should check them out. While the quality was good this past week there was an alarmingly small number of submissions, so please, submit a theory this week. I also didn't receive ANY submissions outside of theories. This is a problem, please continue submitting stuff to the EarthBound section, it IS the game that this site is based on. Anyway, here are the guides that I threw together this week:
Misc. Game Info: Defense Items - Picky PSI Guide - Picky Weapon List - Picky
Have fun.

SeekTag |

|
|
If I see one more SeekTag post on the forums, I will take the game off of the site. I am tired of seeing them, and I have updated the page with a second warning. I am sick and tired of people posting for people to play. Go to IRC for to play.

EVIL mailbag delays |

|
|
My FTP dilemmas are still entirely unresolved, and I absolutely can't access Starmen.Net to upload things. so all you mailbaggers out there, you'll have to sit tight while we folks on the background try to work out a solution to this problem. Co-staffer to the mailbag section should be arriving any time now, so that should fix the problem. Until then, unfortunately, you're going to have to do without a mailbag. BUT FEAR NOT, IT SHALL RETURN! For unlike past mailbags, this one has me running it. ;D

Go Buy Coca-Cola In Japan. NOW! |

|
|
This. Is. Awesome. Special thanks to Jonk for pointing this out to me.
In a recent article from GamesAreFun.com, Nintendo has reportedly teamed up with Coca-Cola in Japan to help promote the Japanese release of Mother 1+2 for GBA. With the purchase of Coca-Cola products you can get one of six different Mother 2 keychains.

I know what you are thinking. I want a Master Belch keychain too. This is my advice on how to get your hands on one, or all six, of these things:
- 1. Go to Japan and buy lots of Coca-Cola.
- 2. Keep your eyes glued to eBay.
I will be sure to let all of you know when an auction selling these things pops up. Until then, check out the new Mother 1+2 Coca-Cola Keychains section in Merchandise. Check out all the pics and drool. Man.... Japan gets all the cool things! Come on Nintendo of America.... Wheres the love? :(

Articles |

Articles have been updated. Write an article. Send it to articles@starmen.net. We have a special Nostalgic Wednesday this week. This NW is written by guest NWer, MikeTheEBGuru! Thanks to GARFEP for the quick correction to Plo's awesome NW banner! ;D This weeks Nostalgic Wednesday Was Chosen by our Guest NWer, MikeTheEBGuru Coming this week from the crusty files of NW, we have one of the funniest and enlightening article pieces ever conceived. How Smart is the Apple Kid is not only one of Jim痴 finest, but it痴 also one of those articles that leave you kicking yourself for not coming up with the same idea earlier. It has prose, content, and enough manly Apple Kid dissension to make you question that fruit-faced bum the entire game. Without a doubt, I believe it deserves to be known as one of the best articles we致e ever had, and honestly, it made me eat more oranges. On a more personal note, a 16 year old boy I knew passed away after falling 30 feet on a hiking trip last Friday. He was smart, kind, and genuinely a good guy. It was a harsh awakening for many of the teenagers in my town. Please, take care of yourselves and cherish the people around you while you can.

148 Voters, 13 Winners! |

|
|
That was close there, Fobby. Fobby JUST voted as I was updating the area -- way to sneak it in last minute! :)
Anyways, there seems to be a lack in voters lately...a couple (or more) less each week. I hope that trend reverses soon...
So, we have the Fan Melee updated, as usual, and also, we have the Fan Shots area updated, with another pic from Naeroon. Always good to see people sending in stuff. EDIT: The pics are working now -- 'cause, if you didn't notice, they weren't coming up before. heh...heh...oh. -.-
Speaking of sending in stuff, you know what I'd be impressed with? Watching the CPU play as Kirby, lately, and playing him some myself, I'm noticing that Kirby is actually quite the difficult character to master. His range of attacks is somewhat short, so swordsmen give him a really hard time, and his priority isn't as high as other characters (like Luigi). His power isn't top notch, he's lightweight, and none of his B-Button moves are as devastating as other characters. Sure, he can jump great, and he's a smaller target, but that's about it. But, I still like Kirby, and the game wouldn't be the same without him. So, can anyone help us out here in our SSBM area? Make a Kirby FAQ, and send it in! I want to see a Kirby master's finest results, in FAQ form, so that we all may bathe in his/her brillance. Heck, and if you can throw in a Mewtwo FAQ, I'd be blown away!! :)
