And then he had to go to bed. So I'm posting in his stead, announcing two things to all: 1) Project: NP Siege 2 will be updated tomorrow with the latest round of letters. We really need more letters! I know there are a lot of you reading this who haven't written a letter yet. Please, if you like EarthBound, click on the link and write a letter. 2) Don't forget about the Starmen.Net Meeting at 9 PM EST tonight! I only have one question so far for Starmen.Net Q&A. | Hey, hey. Made a page for a neat Mother 1 manga called Cherry Blossms. Very cool, but more pics of it would be cooler :T. I got rid of the EarthBound Ruler page, if ya ever want to see the crazy ruler e-mail me anytime. Or the info of how it came to "being". I guess we just can't spare the space hehe. I also got rid of useless junk in the merchandise section, like that pic of me drinking out of my Starmen.net mug, ROFL. That and other minor things are off. Or cleaned, a word Tomato likes. | ||||||

Four quick things: 1) New site design is coming along nicely. In a few days we should be done with the design itself. As for implementing it and releasing it, we're really not sure how long it will take. It'll be worth the wait, I promise. 2) I got 4 NP Siege II submissions today! Yay! I'll probably post them tomorrow. 3) #starmen Meeting on Thursday at 9! Be there, because my offer to let everyone see the new site design still stands if we hit 90. 4) Bessie, my bass/fish/best friend, has been recovered! Yay! Now maybe I will be able to do that techno pants remix someday... |

Well as you can see from the name of this update, I'm currently battling the fifth day of having the flu. For the people who aren't quite math geniouses out there, that means I've had it since Friday. I'd been in bed most of the weekend except for going to use the *hehe* bathroom. (I said bathroom hahahaha) Anyways, thats why this update is a bit late. We didn't reach 250 once again. I'm disappointed. Only 215. This weeks question is: Now that the Game Boy Advance has been in the spotlight for quite a bit, do you think we will ever see EarthBound/Mother 2 ported to it? Go vote, Cause I'm going back to bed. |

Well, I've got an NP Siege II update, but its not a happy update. Its a sad update. Its a bad update. Its a make-reid-want-to-scream update. I've got two letters for NP Siege. Granted, I haven't checked the Sm.Net P.O. Box today, but this is extremely disappointing. If this is the kind of participation we're gonna get from the contests like these, then we're not gonna have any more of them, because most of you obviously don't care. I've probably invested 20 hours of my time into this contest alone, with scanning, HTML, updates, and trips to the post office. Because of this severe lack of participation, I'm considering cutting off the contest in a few days, sending mugz0rz to the few people who took the time to participate, and just ending the entire thing there. Tomato and I have been working non-stop on this new design and 50 million other things for the website and community, and you can't even take time to participate in a contest? I'm ashamed, especially at those of you who visit this site constantly and chat in the chatroom and on the forum, and yet do nothing to support us. It doesn't matter if you can draw or not, thats not the issue. Community participation is the issue. Showing Nintendo that we're out here is the issue. As guruzeth commented earlier, if "the biggest EarthBound community on the web" can only produce a handful of envelopes from the thousands who visit the website, Nintendo isn't going to take us seriously. They're going to laugh. Anyways, here are the submissions. Keep in mind that the deadline is in 15 days. If you live outside the U.S. and you haven't put your submission in the mail yet, you better do it QUICK.

Yeah baby, the limited edition EBounding version Mailbag is here! Get it while its still edition one and mint condition. I got some pretty interesting letters this week, so it makes for a pretty good read. I also got some really crappy letters from reidman and dragondyne which inspired me to create a new mailbag section. This section, titled 'The Stupid Box' contains letters so horribly bad that they deserve neither acknowledgement of who wrote them nor a response from myself or the guest answerer. Don't try to get in The Stupid Box, though, cause I'll know! In other news, I was writing up the mailbag and my roomate was playing guitar, and suddenly he started playing the Chaos Theatre song! Cool! Well, I think so at least. It's by Eric Clapton, but I forgot the name. Just thought I'd let you know. |

After diospadre "accidentally" deleted the mailbag that I cohosted last month, I spent every waking hour looking for a copy of it. I found it lying in one of Starmen.Net's hidden sewer systems - good thing I had Luigi the Fortune Telling Alligator to help me. You can see that old mailbag here. Careful, I mock quite a few people - but they deserve it! I got a few fan game entries to put up some time, so keep on the watch for that. But right now, I'm working hard with reidman on the new you-know-what. It's gonna kick major rear, both visually and technically. Woo hoo! |

I saw this a while ago, but never checked it out until just now. Yomiuri Shimbun, one of Japan's big newspapers, has an interview with EarthBound creator, Shigesato Itoi on its website. What's cool is that it's actually a videotaped interview that you can stream from their site.  Click here to find it. The 2nd link next to Itoi's picture is the one where he briefly discusses why Mother 3 was cancelled. I watched it, basically he says everything he's said before - cost/time management problems, Mr. Iwata going to work for another company, etc.I realize most of you probably won't be able to understand what he says, but this is probably the first chance you get to actually see and hear EB's creator. You may be surprised when you notice he isn't 80 feet tall and doesn't have super god-like powers. But check it out anyway if you're bored. |

There's also a little news that isn't so good. Though it causes me great pain, I must inform everyone that Bessie, my bass, has been stolen. After mourning her loss for the past 2 days, I'm now composed enough to share this with you. Bessie starred in such incredible pieces of music as "Bessie is my Bass" and the infamous "Ode to Pants". She had another project lined up in "Pantstech", a techno remix of "Ode to Pants", but alas it was not to be. Whoever took Bessie also snagged $60 from the Starmen.Net bank book, but luckily thats all I had in there. |

reido@work again, updating with some better news this time around. I was pleasantly surprised to find four NP Siege II submissions in the Sm.Net P.O. Box today! I expect a lot more coming in soon, perhaps as many as 10 more by the end of the week. So if you haven't sent yours in yet, do so immediately! If you live outside the United States, you only have one more week of leeway before its too late to mail your entries and get them to me on time. So get crackin', and I'll post the new entries when I get home. Also, I've decided that I'll cut a deal with the visitors. If we get over 90 people in attendance at tomorrow's meeting, I'll release one of the previews for the new web design that I'm working on for Starmen.Net.
