I've been searching all along
For some answers and clues
To the questions in my heart

I thought maybe as I went along
They'd figure themselves out
Just disappear on the road

The farther along I went
The more I realized that
Answers don't just come

So I went even farther
And I was traveling
Without truth or answers

I was fighting and fighting,
Growing stronger and stronger
But not as strong as the answer

I was learning and learning,
Learning all sorts of things
But I wasn't learning the answer

I was dying and dying,
Dying as the questions ate away
Dying before my time

In the end I found my answers
And in the end I realized
How foolish I had been

All along I thought
That I had to leave
To find my answers

All the while I didn't know
That all the answers were
Locked inside my mind

Maybe somebody could have
Told me this little fact
But I'm glad they didn't

You have to search for your answers,
And I searched and I found mine,
Though I did not need to leave home
