Dear Paula,
Inside this envelope
Is a picture that I saved
A picture from so long ago
Do you remember that day
That day we first met?
Look how young we were
We knew nothing of the world
But we had something to prove
We had a mission, a goal
We together joined a race
Outpacing the bad times
and all the foul deeds
we arrived at the finish line
Oh, how glorious it was
To cross that simple white line
I remember how much it meant
And how much it should mean now
But the truth of the matter is
Without my partner in the race
There is race at all
I guess some things happen
In that race against time
I guess some times we have
To say good bye to those we love
However, did that day have to come so soon?
We were so young, so close
And then suddenly, you were away
I did not send you a letter
So very long ago
I did not send you an email
So very long ago
I did not even take advantage
Of that psychic link we share
I guess at the time
I could not hear your melody
I could not bear to look
At that picture a day longer
Everyday it reminded me
Of mistakes I made
And paths I should have taken
And words I should have said
Three words, that's all I needed
Three words to move the stars
And save my future
Ten Years from the day we parted
I give you the three words I owe
I love you
-Ness
