When a writer writes
They put their heart
They put their soul
They put all of themselves
Into their writing
And thus
The writing comes alive

Let me tell you about
The ancient Scarabians
They were the ultimate writers
They put all their soul
And all their heart and energy
Into their writings
And thus
Their writing came alive

I do not mean this
In a metaphorical sense
I mean it quite literally
Their hieroglyphics
Will jump off the wall
And run about
Alive and conscious
It's a sight to see

I think we all need to learn
From these ancient Scarabians
We need to put our all
Into our writings
Then maybe our words
Will leap forth from the paper
And soar through the air
Maybe, just maybe
Our writing can come alive
