When Ness needed them
They'd gladly join his party
In battle they would stand valiant

Against every possible foe
No matter how twisted

But as they used their strength
They started to feel weaker and weaker
Their movements grew slower
Until one by one the fell
Into their open graves

Ness had to go on
Without his courageous friends
He had to search about
For a hidden reserve of strength
One deep inside himself


Somehow, he managed
To get on without the Flying Men
Somehow, he managed
To find more strength
He had reserved for days

But now he's in the abyss
Completely engulfed by darkness
It looks like he's met his end
The prayers are not answered
He prays silently to himself

Somewhere in a dream
The call is answered and heard
As each Flying Man rises again
Bursting from their graves
And Flying into the sky, singing
