The Plight of Pokey's Soul
|

|
|
Written by Heavily Armored Hamster
Fate is heralded
By so many fools
As the be all, the end all
Penultimate work of history
They say it's unwavering
They say it's etched in diamond
They don't think
That it can alter at all
I don't believe in this
No, no not me
Because I am enlightened
And the truth I have seen
I happen to know
That Fate writes an outline
But leaves in large blanks
To fill in with free will
I became illuminated
To the eyes of fate
When I happened upon
A certain statue
A statue that stared
Into my mind
And told me quite plainly
That my future was bleak
Overweight, alone, sick
A job anchored in the sand
A future that I did not want
A future I had to escape
It told me
A prophecy about these four
One of which my neighbor
Would defeat Giygas
It told me, right to my mind
That it could change my future
That I could blot out
The handwriting of fate itself
Fate is an apple
Of which we all bite out of
But a core that remains untapped
There was some skin for me to bite
If I were to join with Giygas
Join his noble plight
The weights of fate would unbalance
And maybe, Giygas could win
Now that I was enlightened
I realized this statue
Also contained a power
Of illusions most realistic
I needed a following
An army of numbers
To widen the gap
In Giygas' losing odds
I came in control
In control of the statue
Master of Mani Mani
Master of Illusionary Skills
I seduced a liar
Into telling the truth
The statue was sold
To a Village Elder
I seduced a saint
Into a new kind of religion
One that would recruit
More for Giygas' division
The key to unite
Was one single symbol
To represent unity
I chose the color blue
Alas, That plan failed
Some one wanted dearly
For me to suffer
A future detestable
I needed to seduce
Someone who could influence
A greater audience
In shorter time
I chose a common man
A weak minded fool
Who wanted power
A certain Monotoli
So Monotoli rose
To control a sprawling city
Became the heart of a metropolis
Everything worked smoothly
Suddenly I had an army
Police Officers, Coppers
All tainted by the bill
All tainted by me
It looked to be working
But then that boy found
Mani Mani's secret dimension
And yes, he destroyed it
The Mani Mani
Was my only method
Of communicating with pure evil
I was distanced from my only ally
I needed to stay in contact
I couldn't afford separation
I threw my body to the sky
And let it fill with darkness
Giygas in the body
Giygas in the brain
Giygas in the heart
Giygas in the blood
I had become a carrier
For Giygas
I had joined
With Giygas
But The fragment of Giygas
It felt a longing
It felt so alone
I felt so alone
I was distanced from myself
I was distanced from a larger part
I can't quite explain it
But I was not one
I was half of Pokey
A boy set to change the future
I was half of Giygas
Set to rule the universe
But...
I was not completely Pokey
But...
I was not completely Giygas
I was now more confused
Than ever before
What was I?
Now that I have no soul?
I had to run
Run across the hills
Run across the ocean
Run across the dessert
I had to run
Run into his arms
His blissful, blissful arms
Then I could be one again
So I ran towards my master
I ran to Lord Giygas
I ran to myself
I ran to my other half
My other half
Knowing that I was suffering
Sent me a vehicle
To meet him in the past
We reunited
O, You cannot comprehend
Such a feeling...
I felt h...a...p...p...y
Joyous singing across the ages
Joyous singing; singing so happily
Joyous singing
We had a universe to play in!
But...
It happened...
That boy again...
He showed up again
It was not the boy
So to say
But a robotic frame
With his identity
He too had lost a part of himself
He aligned himself with the Earth
He traded half for power
And half for Mother Earth
In an instant we were so alike
Half Pokey, Half Giygas
Half Ness, Half Terra
And yet...
For a minute I did not need a future
For a minute I was h...a...p...p...y
So happy to be in the present
Pure, pure, palpable joy
And HE SHOWED UP again
He had to RUIN MY LIFE
My FUTURE no longer carried pain
So he had to END MY LIFE to draw blood
So I fought him
I fought him in two places
Standing along with my halves
And I fought him
Oh, Ness
You were my best friend
I'm so h...a...p...p...y
Don't you UNDERSTAND?
Oh, Ness
Free me, free me!
No, don't hurt me
Let's be friends forever!
Oh, Ness
Ness Ness Ness Ness Ness Ness
Ness Ness Ness Ness Ness Ness
Feel my feelings incomprehnsionable!
Ness
I feel H...a...P...P...y
It hurts Ness, It hurts
I feel so happy
But I'm terrified
So I'll turn on the Devil's Machine
To full blast
Here it comes, hold on
True terror absolute
True Horror ultimate
True Fear In my veins
I'm so scared, Ness
And...
And...
I've lost my mind
I'm sorry
I do not remember
Just how the battle ended
But I could hear the Praying
Of a thousand misguided souls
I found myself in the future
Alone, again
Giygas was gone
I was merely half of Pokey
Why
Why had this happened?
It was then I became Enlightened
To just how foolish I was
I had chosen common men
Weak minded fools
Who wanted powers
And manipulated them
All the while I was blind to see
The mocking hands of fate
Guffawing as they made me dance
Dance Giygas' twisted melody
Giygas chose a common boy
A weak minded fool
Who wanted power
A certain me
Alone, in the future
I promised Revenge
Revenge on Ness who somehow
Somehow managed to end up whole
Alone, in the Future
I promised Revenge
But I shall never deliver
For there's nothing left of me
