Ghost Town

Part One: Four Friends, Four Shadows

One dark night, four friends had planned
In Twoson, they would meet
To sport their Halloween costumes
And go for trick-or-treat

The night air had a certain chill
And the time was creeping fast
The yellow harvest moon was full
And the trees, their shadows cast

They were to meet in Burglin Park
Flashlights and bags in hand
And go to search for candy
In the towns of Eagleland

The whole town seemed deserted
That night, Twoson was dead
Everything was in shades of gray
The meeting, did the four friends dread

At eight o'clock, they were to join
And right around that time
Four shadows appeared in the Park
Without reason or rhyme

Past Burglin Park flew owls and bats
Across the road ran mice
Upon glimpsing the strange sight,
Each creature stopped then to look twice

Four shadows gathered in the park
But no children stood beside
How did the moon, these shadows make
With no children as a guide?

The creatures, frightened, darted off
Though they scarcely made a sound
It was Halloween, all right,
And Twoson was a ghost town
