Ghost Town

Part Two: Ness's Song

Earlier that evening
Ness had left home in Onett
He was dressed as a baseball player,
A tough costume for him, one would bet

A red cap sat upon his head
The Gutsy Bat held in his hand
With his flashlight and his candy sack
Ness was off to meet his merry band

He passed through Onett's lonely streets
The night air cold, it chilled him so
His teeth chattered as he went along
He knew there wasn't far to go

At last he reached the edge of town
Ness crept along the forest path
Twoson was far away, it seemed now
Ness could feel his fear, its wrath

His eyes were playing tricks on him,
Trees came alive, or so it seemed
Their branchlike arms reached towards the moon
In the dark, the dry leaves gleamed

Not along after, Ness arrived
In what seemed to be an empty place
The terror caused his heart to pound
And a look of horror on his face

Twoson was deserted, silent
Not a person was around
Ness made his way to Burglin Park
There, his friends should have been found

But when he got there, Ness was shocked
No people did he see
He was all alone in the darkness,
Well, not quite, he saw the shadows three
